Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was the most beloved wife to the Holy Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) after the demise of Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her). Being the daughter of Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with her) Allah bestowed upon her great insight, intelligence, eloquence and a sharp memory. She became the fourth most prolific narrator of hadeeth. Her knowledge of the Quran and hadeeth was so unique and amazing that companions such as Abu Musa Al-Ashari (may Allah be pleased with him) would say, ‘Never would a hadeeth become difficult for us except that we would find some knowledge of that hadeeth with Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).This in itself dispels and eradicates the notion and myth that Islam discourages learning and scholarship for the women of this Ummah.
